Florida Historic Chapel Weddings

If you are searching for a historic wedding chapel in Florida for your wedding ceremony then take a tour of the Tavern and Chapel in the Garden. The chapel can accommodate 120 seated guests and has been decorated in every possible way for beautiful wedding ceremonies and vow renewals. The chapel will also hosts celebrations of life for those who have passed.

Engaged couples have been known to search high and low for a unique place to get married, until they find our property. We have had brides contact the Tavern and Chapel staff after weeks of searching for the perfect historic wedding chapel to host their wedding ceremony. private estate that overlooks the Halifax River. Perfectly manicured gardens shaded by oak trees with Koi ponds and brick paved walkways make for a uniquely beautiful setting for weddings and events.

Also on the property are other venues that are available for wedding rental. Agatha's Cottage, a two story guesthouse overlooking the river, can be used as a bridal suite before the wedding ceremony and then as a honeymoon suite after the reception. Snow White's Cottage in the Gardens can be used for children parties or as a beverage station for champagne service. The Sunshine Express is a historic train car that can be used by the groomsmen to prepare for the wedding ceremony. There is also a gazebo and rivergate area for outdoor garden weddings. The Tavern is a two-story historic building used to host wedding receptions and special events. The entire garden area can also be used as an outdoor wedding reception area. The possibilities are endless!

About our Florida Historic Wedding Chapel
The historic wedding chapel was originally constructed in 1897 and has been completely renovated in an 18 month process. During renovation, the century-old pine boards were removed, planed down, varnished, and reapplied to the walls. The stained glass windows were replaced with new stained glass. A barrel ceiling above the pulpit was designed and built by Chuck Gittner.

The bell tower has an impressive bronze bell that was cast in Baltimore, Maryland and weighs 1,050 pounds. The wedding bell will toll after wedding ceremonies and can be heard throughout the neighborhood. The Tavern and Chapel were originally a private estate to host the many social parties of the Clarks but in 1999 opened to the public to host weddings. Now, the Tavern and Chapel has grown to host hundreds of weddings each year and is the best kept secret for historic wedding chapel ceremonies in Florida.
